Just as with human medications, buying generic can save money on the cost of your prescription. If you find Heartgard Plus too pricey consider using a generic medication. Before you do, however, there are some things you should know about heartworm infestation, Heartgard and the generic alternatives to it. One thing to always look for is FDA and EPA approval on generic pet med products. You don't want to administer any questionable medication to your pet as this may actually cause problems.
